Sarah Baeumler here again, sharing my thoughts on the latest trends and looks. Currently, Bryan and I are taking some much needed time with our family before we get back to our intense filming schedule. When we are away from the cameras you will find me sitting at my computer sharing my current inspirations, including décor, fashion, travel and parenting, on my website

Bold Flats
With nice weather on its way, I am so grateful to trade my winter boots for a chic pair of statement flats. Shoes are an efficient way to make a big impact on your outfit.  Simply adding a pop of pattern or colour with your shoes can transform your daily look. Pointy toe flats are always a go-to for me as they can easily transition from the office to evening errands, staying comfortable all day long. They pair perfectly with a crop skinny jean or capri pant, and always look best when there is a hint of ankle showing. In addition to colour and pattern, looking for interesting cut outs and defined lines is important when shopping for spring flats.

Travel Ready
Whether you’re hoping on a plane or sitting in a car for hours on end, planning your getaway outfit is always important before heading on holiday. I have a few outfit staples when getting travel ready: cross body bags, versatile jackets and white sneakers. Cross body bags give you lots of space while making a full purse easy to carry. Metallic hardware, a chain strap and contrasting piping can make the bag not only convenient but stylish. Light, versatile jackets are the perfect layering item when preparing for different climates. I usually opt for a jean jacket; they have a great weight and can be paired with almost any bottom or top. Comfortable shoes are a must when long, active days are ahead. A simple low rise white sneaker with white laces make for a timeless addition to your closet that you will get so much utility from.

All shapes, fabrics and styles of hats are welcomed when looking to accessorize for spring. Neutral, floppy, wide brimmed hats are the perfect addition when looking to add a little glamour; stiff, moulded crown, suede hats are ideal when looking to add a professional element. Woven fedoras are a personal favourite. The narrow brim provides ideal coverage and banded detail adds a simple, elegant design detail. Ideal for function and style, hats are hugely popular this spring/summer season.

The Bardot Top
This off the shoulder top is trendy and timeless all in one. Its flowy, flattering nature can make for the most feminine of looks and lets just enough skin peak through.

This top is best utilized in a casual outfit, featured in muted colours consisting of cotton, denim or lace.

The cut of this top leaves so much to offer when selecting accessories as it pairs perfectly with statement scarves or necklaces. Surely a go to item for the spring/summer season.

This upcoming spring/summer season is sure to be filled with a variety of new styles, so have fun and experiment with some new looks. If you don’t feel brave enough to change your style completely, just add a new accessory or one new look so you too can embrace the new season.
